The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress, the mega-bomber which is a jet-powered, subsonic aircraft, made for long-range bombing. After it's maiden flight on 15 April 1952, It is STILL in service and the U.S. Army don't plan to retire it by 2050, making it a CENTURY old by the time it retires.
This thing is actually huge, with 8 Rolls-Royce F-130 (originally Pratt & Whitney JT3D and J57 engines) engines, it has a top-speed of 1046 km/h and a range of 14,162 kilometres or 8800 miles.

This thing can carry 20 SRAM nuke missiles, air-launched cruise missiles (ALCMs) and can carry 70,000 lbs of bombs or 36,000 kgs (36 tons)!
And also the max altitude of 50,000 feet. The Stratofortress has been used in the Vietnam War as a CAS (close air support) aircraft even though there was the F-4 Phantom.

Now, the B-52 is on high-alert and can be called by the U.S. Army whenever they want in under 10 minutes... WITH A NUKE!
Well, that's about it so later...
